BS EN 60439-1 Testing
As a manufacturers, it is Saftronics responsibility to supply products that are 'fit for purpose' and comply with the relevant product standard. In the case of low voltage switchgear, motor control centres and control panels this standard is BS EN 60439-1. To ensure compliance with the standard Saftronics can provide comprehensive and detailed test data and can provide a Certificate of Conformity for all products upon completion.
A major element of the standard is to ensure that the switchgear and motor control centres are safe in operation and designed, manufactured and tested in such a way as to guard against hazards which may arise from the equipment itself or by external influences on it. Such hazards include contact with live parts, high temperatures, overloading, short circuits, mechanical failure or environmental influences.
For all installations of low voltage switchgear and motor control centre equipment Saftronics can provide evidence in the form of type tested certificates and supporting documentation that all areas of compliance have been proven.
BS EN 60439-1 defines the following areas where type testing must be carried out as proof that the design complies with the Standard:
