As Managing Director, it is Alan’s role, among other things, to identify, develop and direct the implementation of business strategy; plan and direct the organisation's activities to achieve stated and agreed targets and standards for financial and trading performance, quality, culture and legislative adherence and direct functions and performance via the executive team.
Alan is a highly experienced engineer who has been with Saftronics since 1979 and has been a Director of Saftronics for over 9 years having previously worked in all areas of the business.
Richard has overall responsibility for the leadership and direction of the finance team. He manages the preparation of accounts, forecasts and budgets, undertakes commercial analysis and reporting and maintains and improves financial controls. A qualified Chartered Accountant, Richard has held numerous previous board level and non-executive posts before joining Saftronics in June 2001.
As Technical Director, Jonathan’s role is to plan, direct and co-ordinate all the legal, compliance and standards work and activities of Saftronics in order to ensure the stringent demands of customers, industry bodies and the company are delivered. Jonathan‘s employment with Saftronics started in 1985 and during his career he has gained significant engineering experience in many different areas of the company’s business.
With excellent engineering experience gained across a wide range of industries Barry joined Saftronics in 2001 as a Senior Software Engineer heading a team of engineers working on a variety of projects.
In 2005, he became Software Manager in charge of the Systems Integration department and responsible for all software standards and productivity tools as well as the creation and development of our SafSource product.
As Operations Director he is now responsible for the planning, development and implementation of Saftronics strategy for operational management. Barry’s role involves the implementation of agreed organisational performance plans within agreed budgets and timescales - covering relevant areas of operation such as engineering, manufacturing, procurement, distribution, test and quality management.
As Business Development Director, Ian is involved with new product development, business planning, market and technology research, formulation of strategy, distribution channel analysis and development, technology transfer, licensing, partnership assessment and development and direct communication and liaison with Saftronics clients.
After working in both Systems Integration and Engineering Consultancy, Ian became a Chartered Engineer and a full member of the IET before joining Saftronics in 2001 to develop its Systems Integration and Intelligent solutions standards, products and services. Since then, he has helped Saftronics gain recognition as panel builder of the year 2003, and awards for engineering and team work from Thames Water and Severn Trent Water.
Ian joined Saftronics in 2008 as UK Sales Manager and was appointed Sales Director in March 2010. lan’s role is to create and deliver sales strategy for Saftronics, manage the sales team and build relationships with its customers and suppliers. In addition he is responsible for directing all commercial activities and managing relevant reporting of management and financial information for the sales and marketing departments.
With a wealth of experience both as a qualified and approved electrical engineer and having worked for a number of years as an external sales engineer specifically in the Process Control and Automation market, Ian’s knowledge and skills extend to MCC’s, Switchboards, PLC, HMI and SCADA control systems particularly within the water sector.
